Classes

 Our daily Open Classes focus on proper breathing through the practice of pranayama, proper exercise through the practice of asanas, and proper guided relaxation. (See more about the five points of yoga)

 All our classes are 90 minutes long (unless stated). Pre-booking is not required, apart from beginners courses Yoga 1 and Yoga 2. Please arrive 5 – 10 minutes before your chosen class starts. Wear comfortable clothing and turn off your mobile and/or pager.

Open Class and Open Plus

Open Class is a 90 minute class open to all, these classes go through the Sivananda sequence, focusing on the 12 basic Asanas (postures), Pranayama (breathing), and Savasana (relaxation). Practise in a peaceful environment with freedom to work at your own pace.  Open Plus is a 1:45 minute class slightly more challenging to increase your endurance and depth of the practice.

 

Intermediate Class

This is a 2-hour class for students wanting to take their practice a step further, this class deepens every aspect; Pranayama, Asana, Advanced Variations and Relaxation.

 

Gentle Class

Recommended for beginners or those looking for something lighter. Similar to Open Class, but with gentle variations and remaining less time in the yoga postures. In this relaxing class there is no practice of headstand posture. Open to all.

 

  • Beginner Course

A four week course that covers twelve basic postures, breathing techniques, and relaxation. Meeting twice a week, this course is perfect for absolute beginners or those wanting a refresher. Registration required. See more on Beginner Courses.

  • Satsang

Satsang is a group practice in which everyone is invited to participate in this 30-minute silent meditation group followed by mantra chanting, a reading (usually from the writings from Swami Sivananda and Swami Vishnudevananda) and a brief discourse.  Satsang is a spiritual community practice open to all  and is free of charge.

  • Meditation Course

Giving you the tools to develop a meditation practice; bringing about deeper concentration, inner strengh and a peaceful attitude to life. Registration required. See more on Meditation Course.

  •  Spiritual Cinema
